ICON, is the Greek word EIKON meaning image. It is the reflection of God’s reality. The icon is the prayer in colour, the bridge that unites our soul with Heaven.

The Byzantine icon combines Classical Greek, Roman and Middle Eastern art traditions. During the 2000 year history of Byzantine iconwriting generations of theologians and artists established strict rules or canons on the representations of Holy Images. Today the forgotten art of the icon is being rediscovered and we see a renaissance of  iconwriting in Eastern Europe, the Balkans and North America.

The goal of the Icon Studio is not only to teach art forms of the past and enrich our creative ability, but also to allow us to discover the God inside of us.
